About
Duke & Duchess: Are two 70 ft narrow boats. Duke has an engine but Duchess is a traditional ‘butty boat’ which is towed behind or breasted up alongside Duke.
Cabins: All our guest cabins are located on Duchess with accommodation for six guests in one twin with en-suite facilities and four single cabins with both en-suite and shared facilities to fit all price ranges. As you would expect from a narrow-boat, the cabins are compact but comfortable with full length beds and ample storage (as long as you don’t bring too much).
Saloons: Both narrow-boats have indoor communal space for guests to enjoy; the smaller saloon on Duchess has games and a library where there are plenty of reference books including canal-related material, local interest, nature and natural history and a comprehensive set of canal maps.
Both boats are fully central heated for those chillier evenings and mornings but in addition Duke has a traditional wood burning stove which makes those Spring and Autumn trips very cosy.
Well decks: Both boats have well decks with padded seats for our guests to sit and enjoy canal life with cratch covers to protect guests for those rainier or windier days.
