What is France Afloat?
France Afloat is unique in being both a family business and actually being based in France. They have all lived and worked on the inland waterways of France for many years and can offer the friendly, informed, personal advice that you need to choose the perfect boating holiday.

Motor yachts
Linssen Yachts are builders of quality gentleman’s motor cruisers. Their reputation for design and build have made their cruisers highly sought after, and has led to them being considered the “crème de la crème” of steel motor cruisers.
EuroClassic
The EuroClassic barge is unique to France Afloat and is designed for spacious and comfortable cruising. We have used our extensive knowledge of both the French inland waterways and the requirements of most discerning clients to design and fit out these barges to an excellent standard.
Modern
In addition to our Linssen and Classic range of cruisers, we also have a “Modern” range. These boats have the latest styling and equipment without compromising on quality. The Modern range come from renowned and experienced Broads boat builders.
Budget
The “Budget” range of boats offer the chance to enjoy the French waterways without breaking the bank. The boats are a little older than the other ranges but are well maintained. All the boats have heating, 220v circuit, hot and cold water and at least one bathroom with a shower and toilet. The galleys are equipped with cookers, fridges, utensils, cutlery, crockery and glassware. Linen is provided but not towels.
Pénichettes
Penichettes are a French designed and built boat and follow the lines of a traditional French barge. The first boats were built in the 70’s, and in the following years the design has been improved and adapted to provide comfortable accommodation. The Penichette has good handling characteristics and is at home on the French inland waterways. There are 3 designs; Classique, Aft-Deck and Fly Bridge with many different sizes & configurations so you are bound to find the ideal boat for your party.
